General Description - From this page, you may view all of the contract options for the current season that you have agreed to in previous negotiations. In the first season of any world, this will always be blank, as you have not negotiated any options for the final seasons of a player's contract. If you sign a player to a two year deal with a Team, Player or Mutual option in the final year of the contract, this will be noted here in the second season. Once budgets have been set, you'll be able to make your decision on these players.
Budget Information, Player Payroll Budget - This captures your current budget status. The player payroll figure represents the amount that you have allocated to your player payroll for the current season. Future seasons are reduced by 80%, 70%, 50% and 50% in order to prevent trashing a franchise for the future. You may not allocate more than this payroll budget for any season.
Budget Information, Player Payroll Allocated - This illustrates the amount that you currently have tied up in signed player contracts for that season. For instance, if you have $8,000,000 in season 4, you have eight million dollars worth of players under contract with your franchise during Season 4 (via multi-year deals). These numbers are updated as players are signed.
Budget Information, Player Payroll Offered - This represents the money you currently have tied up in outstanding offers. This amount plus the payroll allocated cannot exceed the player payroll budget, so be wise in your offers. If a signing would put your franchise over your budget, you will not be able to make the offer to the player.
Type - This indicates the type of option that was agreed upon for this season. Types include Team, Player or Mutual. Player options are immediately accepted or rejected by the player at the beginning of the season. Team options are completely under your control. And, Mutual options are acted upon by the player immediately with the start of the season as well. If the player accepts the option, you may still reject it and offer the buyout.
Status - This indicates whether the player has accepted or rejected a Player option or just rejected a Mutual option. If the status is pending, you must decide whether to accept or reject it. A pending Mutual option means that the player has accepted it.
Action - This allows you to make decisions on team and mutual options. To sign this player for the amount originally agreed upon, please click 'Exercise.' To buyout and release the player, please click 'Decline.' The buyout will cost you 25% of his original salary for this season.
Note - All players with team or mutual options will have their option automatically picked up if not rejected by the end of the arbitration hearings.
